On December 26th, the village of Ko Phi Phi Island was nearly completely destroyed by a Tsunami. Beside a fact finding mission in order to evaluate the situation in February 2005, decision makers on the local and regional level were supported to develop plans for rebuilding a new and more sustainable tourism infrastructure.

On the occasion of the Tsunami conference of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) 2005, the documentary film "Ko Phi Phi - a Day in March 2005" was produced for the opening of the conference.
